Is it only different names?
If you haven’t known yet, Dyson V6 Trigger is actually the new name for Dyson DC58. Some time ago, the famous vacuum cleaner manufacturer decided to change the name of their product, Dyson DC58, into Dyson V6 Trigger, in order to emphasize the featured Dyson Digital Motor V6 in the machine. As the effect, newer products are marketed as Dyson V6 Trigger, while older products are still widely available on the market as Dyson DC58.
So, needless to say, Dyson V6 Trigger and Dyson DC58 both support the same functions. They can deliver up to 20 minutes of continuous suction. They can operate cordlessly, as they are battery-powered. This is a great feature, as you won’t have to bother yourself with tangled cord. Your movement will not be limited by the length of the power cord as well. Furthermore, they have a sophisticated ergonomic design, with the center of gravity placed near the grip for easy handling. They feature the 2-Tier Radial Cyclones technology to increase airflow and provide supreme cleaning performance by capturing more fine dust. The normal mode is decent already for casual cleaning, but there is also the max power mode that can provide up to 6 minutes of continuous suction with maximum power, useful to take care of heavier and more difficult tasks.
However, as Dyson V6 Trigger is newer, we can assume that it is constructed of newer components as well. On the other side, Dyson DC58 still uses older components. Yet, there is also Dyson DC58 Certified Refurbished model available on the market, featuring a motorized carbon fiber motor head. The added feature doesn’t seem to boost the performance any significantly, though.
